The voices rising from the neighborhood during childhood felt painful to the heart, and it was difficult to understand. Women, who work hard from morning till evening, cannot express themselves openly in their own homes. They remain silent and bear everything. I saw nearby girls of the same age going to school and college, which felt good. Images started forming in my mind; perhaps the future for women will improve now. Change came, surely it did; women began to occupy every chair, passing difficult exams and securing high positions. That educated generation proved to be very hardworking, capable of teaching children, attending parent-teacher meetings, managing joint families, and completing every task with efficiency, handling the home as well in response to the demands of time.
